Owners of more than 10,000 vessels will create the future of the industry
The largest B2B event in the yacht charter industry – International Charter Expo ICE´19, which gathers most of the world’s fleet, is taking place from 7th to 10th of November in Vienna.
The future of the whole industry will be created in one weekend. That is why this year the financial sector is coming to ICE. Investment funds will consider significant investments in the growing industry. The positive outcome of this “experiment” could secure a good future for charters.
The fair will also host the largest conference in the charter industry, featuring global marketing experts and nautical experts such as Dr. Friedrich Schöchl, Jordi Gili, Chris Simmance, Michael Amme, Daniel G. Siegel and Cory Jia – a representative of the Chinese market who will open up new business opportunities for charter companies and agencies.
Agencies, suppliers and owners of charter companies from more than 50 countries gather at ICE. More than 200 charter companies will present fleets of over 10,000 vessels from the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Bahamas, Asia, the Indian Ocean, the Pacific and the South Pacific. Also, the largest shipyards such as Beneteau, Bavaria, Dehler, Dufour, Hanse, Jeanneau, Lagoon, Bali Catamarans, Elan, Fountaine Pajot, More Boats and others will present their boats.
With the new matchmaking software – Handshake – participants have already scheduled around 7,000 meetings. Business development, new collaborations and business arrangements are the main reasons for the attendance of participants, and given the constant increase in attendees, it is anticipated that this year’s fair will have a record number of closed deals.
One of the specifics of this fair is the decision of the Yachtmaster Group to create a sustainable fair in hope of raising environmental awareness. Organizers have invested in recycled materials and environmentally friendly solutions and decided to plant one oak tree for each company that comes to the fair. The ICE forest will be planted in Zagreb, Croatia – where the idea of ICE originated.
“Our decisions will not save the planet, but every major journey begins with one small step. The only important thing is that we are heading in the right direction˝ – Tino Prosenik – CEO of the Yachtmaster Group, founder of ICE.
